President’s Report to Members

 MARCH 2017

Gaming Update

Over the last 6 months your Directors have been busy completing an application for an additional twenty (20) gaming machine entitlements for the Club.  Our application has now been lodged with the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR) and Dandenong Council.

Should we be successful with our application, we will commence undertaking extensive building works to extend the Club’s footprint, and wide-ranging renovations to the existing facility.

The new build will include a new entrance and reception area; a new, larger gaming room; a café with an alfresco dining area; and a new staff room, office and administration area.

Changes planned for the existing facility include relocating the sports bar to the current gaming room; creating a soft-lounge area for members to relax and chill-out; removing the walls between the children’s play room, bistro and sports bar TAB area to enable the bistro to be extended across the building to provide twice the amount of window views of the oval; the existing sports bar smoking area converted to a new children’s play room; and the glassed terrace facing the oval will be extended right across the width of the building.

These proposed works will provide the Club with excellent facilities for the future.  Part of our application also includes significant increases in the Club’s contributions to our local community and the inclusion of additional staff for the gaming room; café and alfresco; and kitchen/bistro.  We have also allowed for funding of a drugs, alcohol and gambling addictions counsellor.  However, all this is totally dependent on the Club being granted the additional gaming entitlements.

More details and plans of the proposed works will be made available for members to view as soon as we receive notice of our application being successful.  We should know the outcome of our application by late July or early August.

General

We are currently working on building a ‘Members Only’ section on the Club’s website.  This password protected section will provide specific information for members; member only special offers; and access to the Club’s Annual Reports.  The provision of our Annual Report on-line to members, will significantly reduce postage costs relating to advice of AGM and the Annual Accounts.  I would hope all members take advantage of the Members Only section once it is established.

Looking forward to catching-up with you at the Club very soon.
